Hey there,

I saw your post on Chase Jarvis' blog about the high speed camera 'Phantom HD.' We own one and we rent it out through Koerner Camera Systems for $2,500 day. If you have any questions in regards to high speed, I would gladly answer any for you.

Cheers,

Ryan Haug

Awesome! Did you just use your flash on the lowest setting and keep popping it? An LED flashlight could work just as well, no? If you shine it through a plastic bag to soften it up, maybe?

How would you use silicone grease to stabilize your rig? I've heard of using it for lubrication for spinning wheels, however there are drawbacks to using it that way. Just wondering if you'd have the same drawbacks.

You may be able to have more control if you pulled the car in much closer to the front and parallel (depending on camera angle) to the back wall; that would've greatly reduced and/or eliminated the light spill on the walls. Of course you'd also need to switch to a wider lens.

Just trying to keep the car (as related to the camera's POV) as far away from the walls as possible may solve many issues.

But wait, aren't you guys ditching this place? Black paint party!!!

That's an awesome shot. I never see the bright color of the three dome things on the right in any Seattle shots. Gives this cityscape a different feel.
